Mother Josephine Ramsey was born on December 17, 1926 in Guntersville, Alabama to the late Rev. James and Eula Murray. As a teenager the family relocated to Tennessee and she remained there until she was joined in matrimony to her late husband, Melzie D. Ramsey. To this union were four children Mother Ramsey moved to Coraopolis in 1956 and remained here for over 60 years. She was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for over 40 years until her illness prevented her from serving. She was a member of the Fellowship and Senior Choirs and Sybil E. Dickerson Missionary. With only having an 8th grade education she worked her way up from Janitor to an Administrative Assistant at the Pittsburgh International Airport employed by Allegheny County. Josephine was preceded in death by her two sons, Darryl and Charles Ramsey and her siblings Maxine Battles, Mable Murray, James E. Murray and Joe L. Murray, She leaves to cherish her memory two loving daughters, Phyllis Jackson and Barbara Ramsey Sharp along with six grandchildren, Tarino Northcutt (Kelley), Phillisa Buchanan (Lanny), Jermaine Jackson (Andrea), Eboni Taylor Tue (Paul), Aakea Sharp and Latinya Jackson Lee. Sixteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and devoted niece, Rita Battles; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Copeland Coraopolis Funeral Home and on Saturday at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church,1201 Hiland Ave. Coraopolis from 10:45 Am till 11:45Am where a Service will be held at 12Noon. Humbly submitted by the Family
