Paul Lucci

December 5, 1931 ~ June 7, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old


Paul Lucci, 85, a devoted family man who loved watching his family, children and grandchildren grow. He was a Moon Township resident for 60 years and passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Heritage Valley of Sewickley surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Trafford, PA on December 5, 1931 to the late Crescenzio and Virginia (Cercone) Lucci. In 1976, he was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Jennie (Peluso) Lucci. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings Erma Welshhans and Christy Lucci. Beloved husband for 34 years to Georgia (Stratakis) Lucci; loving father of Sharon Lucci of Robinson, Susan Ponticello (Christopher) of Hanover Twp., Paul Anthony Lucci (Shelley) of Cranberry and David Andrew Lucci (Deborah) of Cranberry; well-loved step-father of Anthony Kalezis (Susan) of OH; proud “Pap” to Jillian, Austin, Jenna, Kailey, Meghan and Emma; step-grandfather of David, Alex (Amanda), and Nicholas; step-great grandfather of Darion; brother of Mary Lamark of Moon Township and brother-in-law of Toni Lucci of Moon Township; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was a member of St. James Church, American Legion and volunteered at West Hills Food Pantry. He was a graduate from Pittsburgh Triangle Tech in drafting. For years he worked as a draftsman for the Army Corp of Engineers. Paul proudly served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War. Paul’s passion was winemaking the “Old Italian Way”. It was a family tradition passed down to Paul by his grandfather in Italy which is now carried on by his sons and grandchildren here in America. They have his vision and passion. Paul was all about family and he will be missed greatly. Visitation Sunday 1-7 PM at Copeland’s Moon Twp., 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayers will be recited on Monday at 9:15 AM followed by Mass at St. James Church at 10 AM. Rev. Thomas J. Burke celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
