William Lewis Moyer, a kind, quiet, faithful man, went home to his Lord on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from Heritage Valley Beaver at the age of 85. Born in Lancaster, May 21, 1932, one of two born to the late William D. and Elsie Mae (Robison) Moyer. He was preceded in death by his sons, William "Billy" J. Moyer and Richard J. Moyer I. Beloved father of Robert "Bump" E. Moyer (Rebecca) of Economy; father-in-law of Rose Ann Holcomb (Thomas); cherished grandfather of Michael, Krista,Rick II, Cory and Sean; great grandfather of Kennedy and Marla; brother of James H. Moyer of Lititz, PA. Bill was a 1950 graduate of Pleasantville High School in New Jersey. He made his home in Coraopolis since 1961. He was an active member of Coraopolis United Methodist Church and Methodist Men serving as President, Coraopolis Kiwanis, Duquesne Light Retirees and AARP. He worked as an operator for Duquesne Light from 1957 to 1994. He lived a full life, touching many lives. Always doing things for others, he was a mentor for the Key Club at Cornell High School, brought cheer to nursing homes he visited with his dog Autumn, taking neighbors to doctor’s visits or the grocery stores. There was never a time when he was asked to do something that you couldn’t count on him. He had a quirky sense of humor telling little jokes with a kind word. Bill Moyer, you will be missed. Visitation Thursday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. Everyone please meet at the Coraopolis United Methodist Church, 1205 Ridge Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108 for funeral on Friday at 10 AM. Rev. Tracy Cox will officiate. Burial will follow at Sewickley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Bill wanted donations to go to his church.
