RICHARD DENNIS BROWN

Richard Dennis Brown passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 17, 2018 following heart complications. He was born December 27, 1929 in Sewickley, PA. Youngest son of Margaret Heuler Brown, and Martin T. Brown. He is preceded in death by his three older Siblings. Martin T. Brown, Margaret "Peggy" Brown LaSpada, and Robert H. Brown. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Sickeler Brown and three sons: Richard Brown (April), Thomas Brown (Mary Ann) and Kenneth Brown (Ioulia). He has three surviving grandchildren; Aunalee Brown, Adam Brown and Sarah Brown. His eldest grandson. Jordan Brown, passed away June 2017.

Richard graduated from Sewickley High School and went on to work for American Bridge for 31 years as a foreman. He also was in the Air National Guard serving as a master Sargent in food service. He ran a tight kitchen! He worked third shift in his cousin`s bakeshop in Sewickley and remembers the days when they had horse hitching posts outside the store fronts on Beaver Street. He was currently working at Brown Dental Laboratory with his son, Thomas Brown as a denture technician. His work ethic was unmatched. As well as his devotion to the love of his life, Nancy. He enjoyed many summers at Indian Brave Campground and winters in Florida after retiring from American Bridge. But once his first grandson was born, he said "What are we doing down here? Let`s get back up to Pennsylvania and be with our new grandson and family." Richard was always there, ready to go. Never one to sit around, he always found something to do and somewhere to go. He was a cancer survivor and never quit or succumbed to having the odds stacked against him. What Richard may have lacked in physical size, he exceeded with a giant spirit and deep love for his family. He will truly be missed by all of us. A life well lived and fond memories to cherish. What more could you ask for. May the Lord keep him until we meet again.

Visitation Saturday 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM at Copeland`s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. Rev. Robert Kiplinger will officiate. Burial will follow in Sewickley Cemetery.
