Mary Cramer Wennemer, 64, of Sewickley, PA passed peacefully at home on Sunday, August 13, 2017 after a heroic battle against cancer. She was born in Trenton, NJ on January 9, 1953 to the late Jane N. Cramer and John E. Cramer Jr. Nothing was more important to Mary than her family and friends. She loved trips to the family’s shore home in Ocean City, NJ where you could always find her on the beach with loved ones. Mary also enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and caring for others. She regularly could be seen walking around Sewickley with her friends, husband and beloved basset hound Maggie.

She was a graduate of Bishop Conwell High School, Levittown, PA and received a B.S. degree in Accounting from Rider College, Lawrenceville, NJ. Mary was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she served as Secretary of the St. James Women’s Guild. She also served as Vice Chairman of the Board of the Bell Acres Municipal Authority.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Robert G. Wennemer whom she wed on November 4, 1978, a daughter, Emily Wennemer (Jonathan Spindler) of Aspinwall, PA, a son, Robert G. Wennemer Jr. of New York, NY, and her siblings, Christine Cramer Sheaff (Kenneth), John E. Cramer III (Bridget), Thomas M. Cramer (Karrie), all of Yardley, PA.

Mary’s family will receive friends on Thursday, August 17 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Copeland Sewickley Funeral Home, 702 Beaver St. where Prayers will be recited Friday at 9:30AM followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church with Father Richard Terdine presiding. Burial will follow at Sewickley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. James Women’s Guild or UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
