Eleanor Mae “Cookie” (Whittaker) Nierle, 65, of Moon Township, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Heritage Valley Sewickley. She was born in Coalport, PA on December 11, 1950 to the late Russell and Ellen (Lovell) Whittaker. Beloved wife and best friend of William Nierle; loving mother of Patrick (Christina) Nierle of Biddeford, ME, Kurt Nierle of Moon Township and Christina (John) Jackson of Bel Air, MD; proud grandmother of Cara Mae, Liam, Colin and Brynley; sister of Russell (Josephine) Whittaker, Deane (Jill) Whittaker and Neil (Pam) Whittaker. Cookie was a 1968 graduate of Altoona High School. She was an independent sales representative. Retired as Human Resources Manager of Moon Township K-mart, Cookie was an avid reader and collector of both lighthouses and snow babies. Visitation Friday 2-4, 7-9 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where service will be held on Saturday at 1 PM.
