Winifred (Touhill) Stone

Stone, Winifred May, age 92, passed on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, a Coraopolis/Moon resident most of her life. She was born in Braddock on October 21, 1928. Beloved wife of the late William L. Stone, Sr.; loving mother of Philip Stone (Peggy), William L.  Jr. and Bruce R. Stone, Deborah Candelmo, and Carol Tyler (Bruce); sister of the late Peggy Mahoney (late Joseph) and the late Jim Touhill; also 9 grandchildren, Keith, Edward, Denise-Nicole, Jeffrey, Scott, Victoria, Daniel, Sarah, and Melissa and 6 great grandchildren; Hayden, Parker, Pace, Reese, Alexandra and LaMarr. Winifred was a past member of the Eastern Star who enjoyed movies, music, singing, flowers, and animals. Over the years, she had dogs, cats, and enjoyed watching birds. She absolutely loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were her pride and joy, taking them on trips to Vermont, New Hampshire and Deep Creek among many other places, even going to Italy for the birth of her first grandchild. Friends received Monday 2-4 & 6 – 8 pm at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Friends or Parkinson’s Foundation.
