Winifred Quinn passed away at the age of 93 at the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford, PA, on June 26, 2024, with family by her side. She was born to George and Catherine Williams in Warrington, England on December 9, 1930. She attended St. Albans School until the age of 14, when she went to work at a box factory. She worked as a telephone operator at the Burtonwood U.S. Airforce Base in Warrington, where she met her husband James Quinn from Ambridge, PA, who was stationed at the base during the Korean War. Jim and Winnie were married in Warrington on November 6, 1954, and their first child was born there.

After the war, they returned to Ambridge and in 1963 purchased a house in Sewickley Heights, where they raised eight children. Winnie worked as a custodian and lunchroom monitor for the Quaker Valley School District at Edgeworth Elementary School and was a member of the St. James choir and Sewickley YMCA.

She will be greatly missed by her children and their families: James and daughters Aileen (Scott), Kathleen, and Caroline (Charles) of California; Allen (Erika) and children Maeve, Liadan and James of New York; Michael of Ambridge and his daughter Heather (Bill), and great granddaughters Tara and Emma of Ohio; Marie Casey (Ian) and daughters Kalla and Anastasia (Kevin) of Ontario, Canada; Catherine and daughter Sophia (Ryan) of Vermont; Susan Cole (Dave) and sons Evan and Derek of Florida; Winnifred of Butler; and Jennifer (Bill) of Linesville. She also has many loved nieces and nephews and their families in England and Australia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim in 2000, and siblings George (Theresa), Tom, John (Lily), Alan (Anne), Kathleen (Brian), Dennis and Derek; daughter-in-law Sylvia; grandchild Kaitlyn Casey and great-grandchild Conner Blum.
