William “Bill” Charles Friedl, 66, of Moon Township, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2026.
Born on June 3, 1959, in Sewickley, Bill was a lifelong resident of the area and a familiar, trusted presence in his community. He spent many years working on the ramp for US Airways, where he was known for his strong work ethic and quiet dependability. In retirement, Bill continued to stay active, working overnight as part of the stock team at the Giant Eagle in Moon Township until he fully retired in early 2026.
The youngest of three siblings, Bill earned a reputation as the family’s go‑to handyman. He had a generous spirit and took pride in helping others, never hesitating to fix something or lending a hand. Friends, neighbors, and family alike knew they could count on Bill whenever something needed done.
Bill enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Pirates fan who loved spending time at the ballpark cheering on the Bucs. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and, most of all, time spent with those close to him.
Bill will be remembered for his kindness, reliability, and willingness to help others without expecting anything in return. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and the Moon Township community he called home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anita (Romasco) Friedl.
Bill is survived by his sister, Linda (Don) Desselle; and his brother, Rick (Susan) Friedl. Also, many cousins, nieces, grand-nieces, nephew, and grand-nephews who will miss his huge heart. Bill’s family is also grateful for the close friendship that Sherrie Dimerling had with Bill over many years.
A committal service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 1 pm.
