William J. Worthington, 77, of Coraopolis, formerly of Monongahela, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Kane Regional Center. William was born in Monongahela on March 22, 1948, the oldest of two boys to the late Vernon Gilbert and Irene (Butchko) Worthington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Janice (Jones) Worthington. Loving father of Victoria Ricketts and husband Keith; proud grandfather of Shane, Allison, and Michael Ricketts; brother of Charles Pizzutelli, Jr. and his wife Sun. William drove bus 19 years for the Ringgold School District. He had also been employed by US Seel in Homestead. He was known to fix things. With that being said, he had worked on a few historical buildings in Monongahela and New Eagle fixing things. As a young man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and dabbled briefly in landscaping. He also loved to bowl and belonged to a bowling league. Memorial visitation will be held at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave., Friday (Dec. 5) from 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Finleyville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations if desired to the American Cancer Society.
