William R. Gorring, father, grandfather, a Christian, a collector/restorer of Model As, passed away peacefully at the age of 85, on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at his daughter’s home with his family present. He was born in Neville Island on April 25, 1935, one of three to the late William R. and Catherine (Fundis) Gorring. Mr. Gorring was heart-broken when his wife of 58 years, Velma J. (Ritchey) Gorring, passed away on February 20, 2014. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his sister Margaret (the late Walter) Vance. Bill is survived by his two devoted children and their spouses William R. (Sandra) Gorring and LaDonna (Steve) Dorsek all of Coraopolis; three cherished grandchildren Mellissa, Brian and William R. Gorring V; his precious great grandchildren John, Crysta, Michael, and Skylor; 2 well-loved great-great grandchildren Dakota and Brayden; and his dear brother David Gorring (Roberta) of Erie. Bill was a faithful member of the Coraopolis Nazarene Church serving on the board and as an usher. He physically built the church, ran the sound system, and donated its beautiful steeple as a beacon up to God. He also donated the steeple in honor of his beloved wife to the church at the church camp. William Gorring was creative and intelligent, able to build tools, fix anything and was a retired Master Machinist from R B & W. His hobby, that he loved, was restoring Model A’s and he was a member of Three Rivers Model A Restorative Club. Visitation Monday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. Further visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Coraopolis Nazarene Church, 386 Shafer Rd., Coraopolis, PA 15108. Entombment will follow in Coraopolis Cemetery. The family would like to thank Gallagher Hospice for their kind and considerate care.
