William James “Bill” Dobias, age 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born June 22, 1937 in Sewickley to the late Paul and Mary (Buran) Dobias. He is survived by his wife, Zvonka Bankovich Dobias (a.k.a. Belle Dobias), son Arthur Paul Dobias (Barbara) of Schnecksville, PA, and granddaughter, Jennifer M. Dobias of Hamilton, Ohio.
He is also survived by his stepchildren: Susie Juriewicz (Walter), Diane Bankovich Fruden, John Bankovich, and step-granddaughter Katilyn Jurewicz. He was preceded in death by his son William J. Dobias, Jr., sister Irene Cermak (Paul), and brothers, Charles R. Dobias, Sr. (Mary Ann and Mary Jane), and Paul Dobias (Marilyn).
Bill worked at MS Consultants, Inc. in Moon Township as a Senior Highway Designer until retirement. He previously worked for Green Engineering in Sewickley.
Bill was a devoted caretaker to his wife, Belle, for many years before his death. He enjoyed visiting with his family, traveling on vacations, golfing, physical fitness activities, and was an ardent gardener.
Bill was a member of the Association of State Highway Engineers, the DORIC Lodge 640, F. & A.M. of Pennsylvania, and spent many enjoyable hours at the Sewickley YMCA.
Visitations will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Ltd., Irvine Chapel, located at 702 Beaver St., Sewickley, PA, 15143. Interment will be at Sewickley Cemetery on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 following a service at 11 a.m. at the R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, Irvine Chapel.
