William J. Carson, 86, a life-long resident of Sewickley, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. William was born in Sewickley, PA on June 26, 1936, one of seven children born to the late John and Mary (Reddington) Carson. For 20+ years he worked as a Chemical Engineer with Koppers until his retirement in 1990. Bill also owned his own business, Carson Industries Inc, located on Division St. off Broad St. He seemingly knew everyone in the community and entertained all with stories about his life and times growing up in Sewickley. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps. He could repair almost anything and helped countless members of the community with their residential and municipal projects. He was also involved with the Sewickley Valley Historical Society and had a passion for local history. William is survived by his sister Rita Carson, nieces, nephews and his babies Handsome and Shoe two and many friends Visitation Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. Mass Monday at 10:30 AM at St. James Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. James Roman Catholic Church
