Wayne A. Baird, Sr.

Wayne A. Baird, Sr. 86, of Coraopolis, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at UPMC Passavant, McCandless.  Born June 17, 1934 in Coraopolis, he was one of 8 children of the late Fred S. and June (McCurdy) Baird.  Wayne worked 30 years as a steel worker for LTV Steel and after retirement stayed active as a custodian for the Cornell School District. He enjoyed being outdoors, but his greatest love was his family.  Just being with them, brought him his greatest joy. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Mildred Taylor Baird (2007), and five of his siblings.

He will be remembered and missed by his beloved children, Wayne A. (Lynette) Baird, Jr. and Patricia McGuane; his adored grandchildren, Stacy (Mark) Smith, Ryan (Hannah) Baird, Taylor (Brian) McArdle, Samantha (Matt) McConnell; and his great-grandchildren who lovingly called him Old Pappy, Hunter, Pierson, Benjamin, Claire, Worthy, Aeris, Xavier, Atlea, Adelaide, Dalton, Nathaniel, Allyson, Owen, Ellie and Abigail; his siblings, Glenn Baird and Lloyd (Carol) Baird. 

Family and Friends will be received Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Copeland’s 867 Fifth Ave., Coraopolis, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11am.  Interment will follow services at Coraopolis Cemetery.
