Floro, Tommaso A., age 88, of Sewickley died peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021, surrounded by his beloved wife and family. Mascino was born in Falerna (Catanzaro) in the Calabria region of Southern Italy. He was born in 1933 to the late Antonio and Antonia (Ferraro) Floro. He was predeceased by his younger sister, Olinda, and survived by his older brothers, Giuseppe and Serafino, both of Sewickley. Brother-in-law of Sina (Mario) Mercurio of New South Wales, Australia. Devoted and loving father of Giuseppe (Christine), Antonio (Adrienne) and Gianni (Lisa) Floro; proud grandfather of Giuseppe, Tyler (Nicole), Kelsey, Julian, Spencer, Gabrielle, Tommaso and Mia. A member of the United Steelworkers of America, Mascino worked at Shenango Steel on Neville Island until his retirement. He was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Divine Redeemer Parish. He was so proud that his boys graduated from Duquesne University. Known for his green thumb, his family’s flower beds and gardens were often appreciated by his loving friends and neighbors, and part of the Italian Garden Project. Friends and family will be received at R. D. Copeland, Ltd. - Irvine Chapel, Sewickley on Monday 6 – 8 pm, and Tuesday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm. Funeral Prayer Wednesday at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. James Church, Sewickley, at 10:30 am.
