Thomas F. Brunson, 72, of Leetsdale since 2016, formerly of Sewickley, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 17, 2024. Born in Sewickley on February 28, 1952, he was one of three children born to the late Felix and Mittie Lee (Jones) Brunson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Felix Clay Brunson. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Gormley) Brunson, who he married on July 4, 1992; beloved father of three cherished children Adam B. Campbell, Adrienne Parkes and Victoria Brunson; proud grandfather of Andre Benjamin Campbell and Liam Scott Parkes; brother of Annette Cobb. Thomas was a graduate of Quaker Valley High School, class of 1970. During high school, he excelled in football as a tackle wearing proudly his jersey #79. Recently, his freshman year team (1967) was inducted into the Quaker Valley Hall of Fame. After high school, Thomas’s dream came true to attend college with his acceptance at Slippery Rock State University. Because family meant everything to Thomas, he gave up his college dreams to take care of his father. He applied and was hired by U.S. Airways, worked there for 34 years in their catering department, and retired in 2007. Thomas loved being with his children and co-workers and their destination was camping in Slippery Rock and enjoying quiet time fishing. He was a Star Wars and Science Fiction “buff.” He also enjoyed watching sports and movies. He worked extremely hard to support his family and will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren who loved him immeasurably. Visitation will be Friday, May 24, 2024, at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. from 2 – 6 PM. Please join us on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 11 AM at the funeral home as we celebrate this well-loved man’s life.
