Teresa (Floro) Cortese

Teresa Cortese, age 95 a longtime resident of Moon Township and Neville Island died on Friday, June 2, 2023. Preceded in death by her parents, Rosario and Concetta Floro. Beloved wife of the late Anthony Cortese, loving mother of Anthony (Christine) Cortese and the late Sara (Marcus) Christianson and late Mary (David) Demoret; dear grandmother of Alexandra (Justin) Sell, Stacey (Justin) Cook, MD, Danielle Demoret and Michael (Amanda) Demoret; great-grandmother of Katherine Cook, Elizabeth Cook and Theresa “Tess” Sell; sister of Anna Bell and the late Jennie DeMeis, Rose Trunzo, and Frank Floro. Teresa was born in Falerna, Italy in 1927 and immigrated to the United States at a young age. She was a loving wife, a dedicated and supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren like only an Italian grandmother could. Friends received at R. D. Copeland, Inc., 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Township on Monday 4 – 8 pm where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am. Committal prayers will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
