Barcheski, Sophie (Yanis); Beautiful, sweet Sophie, of Moon Township, completed her journey here on May 16, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Barcheski. They were high school sweethearts and shared 52 years of marriage. Their precious son, Michael Barcheski, Jr., preceded their passing. She was the daughter of the late Mary and Stanley Yanis. She is survived by her devoted daughter Mary Ann (favorite son-in-law Jeffrey) Gilmore, her cherished grandsons Johnathan and Michael Gilmore. Her grandsons meant the world to her, and she was so proud of them always! Brother-in-law Dennis (Maureen) Barcheski; nieces Taryn (Christian) Price, Kiley Starner, Cayla (Walt) Williamson; grandnieces Teagan, Camdyn and Mailyn Price; Hailey and Zoey Starner; and Lela Williamson. Sophie was the Parish Secretary of St. Margaret Mary for many years. Her strong dedication to the parish community was extraordinary. She welcomed everyone with a smile and her friendly ways. She handled issues with professionalism. She always answered the phone in a delightful manner with her lovely voice. Sophie converted her hardships in life to serving her family and parish community with utmost care and compassion. She loved her family dearly with all her heart. She always made everyone feel special with her kind and generous heart of gold. We are grateful to our family, friends, Priests, and all who helped take care of her. Your support carried us through. Although our hearts are deeply saddened without Sophie, we have been truly blessed by her loving life. “Well done good and faithful servant.” “May the Angels welcome you into God’s Heavenly and Joyful Kingdom.” Visitation Thursday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayers will be recited on Friday at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 10 AM at St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her name to West Hills Food Pantry or the Charity of Your Choice. Sophie would always conclude all phone conversations with “I love you.” Let us continue Sophie’s incredible heartfelt loving legacy by telling someone that you love them.
