Sandy Carlisle Obituary

Sandra (Campbell) Carlisle
February 1, 1949 ~ January 1, 2022 (age 72)

Sandy (Campbell) Carlisle of Sewickley, beloved wife of 50 years to Joe Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022. Sandy was born on February 1, 1949, in Sewickley to the late Ken and Ethel (O’Dell) Campbell.  Loving mother of Robyn Brooks (Mark) and Carrie Bonacci (Bob). Sister of Connie Budzak (and the late Jim), Kathy Horowitz (Bob), and Tom Campbell (Rose). Devoted grandmother of Derek Brooks, Bella Bonacci, Abby Brooks, Livy Bonacci and Christian Bonacci. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Sandy was a graduate of Ambridge High School.  After graduation, she went on to achieve multiple degrees in education at both Edinboro and Slippery Rock Universities, before going on to teach elementary school in the Ambridge School District.
Sandy had a life-long love of helping and supporting children.  Along with being an elementary school teacher, she was a caring mother to her two girls, and a loving and involved grandmother to her five grandchildren.  Nothing would stop Sandy from watching her grandchildren play sports – whether it was softball, basketball, swimming, baseball, wrestling or cross country, Grammy/Mimi was always there for her grandchildren and was always their biggest fan!  Her petite frame was almost too small to hold her big, loving heart and she will be greatly missed.
The love that Sandy held for her family, especially Joe (and their cat Moze), her girls, and her grandchildren was enormous.  Her 50-year marriage to Joe was an example of true love and partnership.  Sandy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sewickley for over 40 years.
Friends will be received at R. D. Copeland, Ltd., Irvine Chapel, 702 Beaver Street, Sewickley on Wednesday 3 – 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10 am in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sewickley. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.
In the spirit of honoring her legacy and love of cats, donations may be made to Animal Friends (www.thinkingoutsidethecage.org) or Homeless Cat Management Team (www.homelesscat.org).
