Salvatore Folino Gallo

Salvatore Folino Gallo, age 94, of Moon Township passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was born January 1, 1931 in Falerna, Italy, the son of the late Vittoria (Giudice) and Giovanni Folino Gallo. He married Rosaria Trunzo on January 27, 1955, and together they raised their four children: Dante, Victoria, Joseph, all from Moon and Giovanna (Alan) Cooke who lives in France. He is the dear grandfather of Sam (Rebecca Warlick) Cooke and Julia Cooke, both from New York. Great grandfather of Lulu Cooke who was born this year on Salvatore's birthday which brought him much happiness!  He is the uncle of Carmela (Franco Gori) Calabrese, Salvatore (Elisabetta Meucci) Calabrese, Mario (Maria Luisa Nicoletti) Calabrese and Giovanni (Angioletta Capriglione) Calabrese. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dante Folino Gallo, Stella (Antonio Calabrese) Folino Gallo and Franca (Aniello Capriglione) Folino Gallo who all passed in Italy. Salvatore retired from Shenango Steel in 1990 after 27 years. In his younger days, he was an avid swimmer, and later a master gardener and a lifelong winemaker. Friends received at R. D. Copeland, Inc., 981 Brodhead Road on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm, where a funeral prayer will be held on Tuesday at 9 am. A Funeral Mass will follow in St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis at 10 am.
