Sally Tomana

Sally Tomana of Sewickley passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 11th with her husband and daughters by her side.  Sally was born on Christmas Day, 1955, in Pittsburgh, the youngest of four children to the late Norbert and Pauline Vater of Moon. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Mike Tomana, and her cherished daughters Christine Poluszejko (David), Katie Holloway(Jay) and Laura. She is also survived by her brothers Tom and Nordy Vater and sister Nancy Ankney, five grandchildren, Grace, Emme, AnnaCate, Jack and Caroline, mother-in-law, Georgeann , sister-in-law, Joyce Tomana and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sally was a graduate of Moon Area High School and a 1978 graduate of the University of Kentucky. Sally retired in 2020 after a 40 year career with American Airlines with plans to travel the world with Mike and spoil her grandchildren. Sally was loved by all who knew her due to her grace, humility, cheerfulness, and engaging smile. She was devoted to her family and friends and volunteered her time to others without reservation, remembering her father's guidance to "always do the right thing." Friends are invited to attend a service and celebration of Sally's life at Christ Church at Grove Farm on Saturday June 18th at 12:30 pm.
