Roy Clemens

1964 – 2026

Roy Clemens, 62, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, a devoted husband, proud father, loyal friend, beloved brother, and deeply loved member of his family and community, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Roy grew up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Greensburg Salem High School. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Army. Shortly thereafter, Roy began his career with Bayer Corporation, now Covestro. He spent 37 years with the organization, working primarily in the Coatings Division; serving as a Lab Manager for much of his career. Roy took great pride in his work and in the many friendships and relationships he developed throughout his career.

Roy was the beloved husband of Laurie, with whom he shared 30 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with family, friendships, adventures, and countless memories. One of their favorite places was along the coast in South Carolina, where they spent many years together and eventually made a second home. Roy especially loved taking rides with Laurie on their golf cart, enjoying the sunshine, beach, and simply being together.

Roy was the proud and devoted father of Ryan and Nicholas.  His sons were a tremendous source of pride and joy throughout his life. He loved watching them grow into the great men they are today. Sports were a special part of their lives together, and Roy especially loved watching his boys play football in high school and college as well supporting them from the sidelines.

Besides his wife and sons, he is survived by; his brothers, Denny (Doreen), Tracy (Jodie), Jamie (Heather), and Jody (Kim); and several nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, James V. Clemens and Geraldine Clemens, who were surely waiting to welcome him home. He was also preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Edward and Ruth Fitzgerald.

Roy was one of the most adventurous people many had the privilege of knowing. He had a passion for anything with an engine and especially loved classic cars, fast cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed racing, golfing, traveling, watching sports, detailing cars and countless other hobbies.  He had a great sense of humor and never needed a special occasion to have a good time being with family, neighbors and friends, sharing a laugh, meeting new people, and genuinely making memories. Roy had an incredible zest for life and was always willing to try something new.

Following Roy’s pancreatic cancer diagnosis in September 2024, he faced every challenge with extraordinary courage, strength, resilience, and faith. Through the most difficult days, he continued to show the same determination and positive spirit that had defined him throughout his life.

Roy’s faith was an important part of who he was. One of the scriptures he often recited was, “The Lord is always with me; I will not be shaken, for He is beside me.” Those words reflected the faith and strength that carried him through his journey.

Although Roy is no longer with us on earth, his presence and memory will never leave us. He will live on in the lessons he taught, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, the adventures he took, and the way he made people feel. His greatest legacy is his wife and sons he loved so deeply and the many lives he touched simply by being Roy.  He will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and never forgotten.

A private gathering will be held with family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 4th at 10:00 AM at St. Philip's Church, 1629 Beaver Grade Road, Moon Township, PA 15108 to honor and celebrate Roy.
