Rosanne B. Stawiany, formerly of Moon Township, PA, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Concordia Franklin Park, Sewickley, PA, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. She was 84 years old. Rosanne was born on August 16, 1939 in Sewickley, PA to Albert and Margaret (Borovich) Borden. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Rosanne graduated from Quaker Valley High School and went on to get her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Duquesne University where she met her husband Bill. Rosanne began her career as a substitute teacher and eventually took a secretarial position at RB&W and went on to Robert Morris College where she was a secretary to the Dean of Engineering until her retirement in 2001. Rosanne was secretary to the Moon Township Planning Commission.
In her spare time, she liked to camp, watch Penguin Hockey, travel, and attend high school football games to watch her husband referee. For 12 years, she enjoyed watching her daughters perform with the Moon Area High School Marching Band and their various athletic events and activities. She was very active in Saint Margaret Mary Parish.
Rosanne was devoted to her family. She was married to Bill for 55 years until his passing in 2018. She is survived by her 4 daughters, Denise Pepke of South Fayette, PA; Valerie (Bryan) Morrison of Sharpsville, PA; Melissa Speer of York, PA; and Adrianne (Jim) DiGiandomenico of Findlay Township, PA. In addition to her daughters, Rosanne was blessed to have 8 grandchildren – Thomas, Alexander, and Nicholas Pepke; Marek Morrison; Peyton, Trenton, and Laci Speer; and Hailey DiGiandomenico. She is also survived by a loving sister Louise Greer. She was preceded in death by a brother James Borden and son-in-law Thomas Pepke.
Family and friends will be received at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Road from 2-4 and 6-8 on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 9:00 am at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church) followed by a private interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her name to Wreaths Across America.
