Ronald A. Benner

Benner, Ronald A., Sr. passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Beloved husband of over 56 years of Margaret "Peg" (Covert) Benner; loving father of Ronald (Sherri) Benner, Jr., James (Shelly) Benner, Sr., Ruth (William Johnson) Benner, and Philip (Jill) Benner; brother of Joan (Patrick Mayse) Benner-Welsh, Matt (Bonnie) Benner, Sharon (the late Ken) Schmittlein, and the late Timothy (Laurie McCullough) Benner and Dennis Benner. Also survived by 6 grandchildren (Laura, Elizabeth, Matthew, James Jr., Megan, and William) and many nieces and nephews. Ron worked for Yellow Freight and was a member of the Teamsters Local #249, he was a graduate of Perry High School in 1956 and served in the U. S. Coast Guard based in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was very well-read, loved poetry, woodworking, carving, photography, cars, and trains but above all, he was very dedicated to his family. Funeral services and interment private.
