Rodney Lee Hubbard; Age 72, of Moon Twp, passed away at the VA Aspinwall on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Rodney was born on December 29, 1953 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Leona Harriett Fisher. He was the former spouse of Cecile Folks and Minerva Hubbard. Father of Maurice Rodney Hubbard and Lashana Hubbard both of Pittsburgh, PA. Brother of Denise Rene Hubbard (Johnson) of Coraopolis, PA, Donna Nadine Hubbard (Williams) of Pittsburgh, PA., Corlis Olivia Nance (Rasheed) of Atlanta, GA, Anita Yvonna Minnifield, Martinsburg, WV. Grandfather of Corey Lemark Hayward, Mason Hayward, Kai Lyn Hayward, Malik Hubbard, Dante “Alfie” Hubbard, Sadie Hubbard and Kyrie Hubbard. Rodney attended Coraopolis High School and later Quaker Valley High School in 1972. After graduation, he attended Allegheny Community College and Robert Morris University. He also served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1972 – 1976 during the Vietnam War era. While in the service, he worked as a payroll clerk and that’s where he was introduced to computing. After his military service, he began working for Mellon Bank as a Teller. He went on to advance to a Foreign Exchange Trader and even spent a year in London working at Mellon Banks London Office and for the Bank of New York in International finance. He also worked in the credit departments for companies such as Pepsi Cola, H.J. Heinz, Del Monte, Big Heart Pet Brands & Smuckers. After retiring in 2016, he worked part-time for Target as a cashier. Amongst his other achievements, he also owned and operated the Zachary’s Taylor Ave Deli. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, biking, and jigsaw puzzles.
