Robert (Bob) Klug, age 89, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2024, at Cardinal Court Assisted Living in Strongsville, OH. He was born on June 1, 1935, in Pittsburgh, PA.
Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran. He started working at Columbia Gas in 1953 and retired from there in 1995 as an Area Supervisor. He worked part-time at the Montour Hardware after retiring. Bob graduated from Coraopolis High School in 1953.
Throughout his life, Bob left a lasting impression on everyone who met him. He was well known for his jokes, singing, and dancing. Bob cared so much about people and always did his best to make them feel special.
Survivors include his children Christine Yancoskie, Karen (Mark) Mabry, Michelle Wilson, and Robert (Cindy) Klug. He was known as “Pop Pop” to his 9 grandchildren, Lynn (Drew), Bryan (Jill), Matthew (Katie), Megan (Brian), Courtney, Danielle, Jacob, Tyler and Michael and his 9 great-grandchildren, (Roman, Gemma, Preston, Ellington, Gianna, Gabriella, James, Dominic and Kyleigh.) He was step-father to Russ (Blanche) Steffan and Kym (Cleighton) Andrews and is survived by his sister, Janice (Dick) Coon. He was preceded in death by his wives, Frances (Kaymark) and Doney (Elmore), parents, Robert and Angeline Klug, brother, Joseph Klug, and grandson, Ronald Yancoskie.
The family will receive friends to honor Bob’s life from 4-8 pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at R.D. Copeland, 867 Fifth Ave., Coraopolis, PA. A funeral service in his memory will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bob’s memory to Gentiva Foundation (www.gentivahs.com), or any Alzheimer’s Association.
