Robert Wagner Obituary

Robert W. Wagner

12-16-1935 to 6-22-2026

Robert Wagner (like the actor), passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family and love. Bob was born and raised in Coraopolis, PA by his parents Gilbert and Mildred Wagner.

His time as a US Marine and his 32 year career with United Airlines took him to other locations, but he would eventually come home to stay and raise a family.

As if 4 young kids weren’t enough, Bob remarried and took on 2 more daughters who would come to know and love him as their Dad.

An early retirement gave Bob time to enjoy many of his favorite hobbies:  golfing, hunting, fishing or being everyone’s handyman! Eventually starting a small tiling/construction business to keep him busy.

A proud Marine Veteran, you may have seen him marching or riding in the Coraopolis or Sewickley parades and in later years at many military funerals where he gave of his time with the Military Honor Guard. He was also a member of the Glenfield Valley Vets, American Legion #4, Marine Corp League-Ohio Valley 882, Veteran of Foreign Wars-Post 5008 and the Masonic Lodge #674. His business degree from Geneva College came in handy as treasurer for many of the clubs he belonged too and also The Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis where he was a lifelong member.

Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia (Castracane-Shaffer), children; Bobby Wagner, Beth Adams, Dawn Shaffer-Bell, Linda (Carlton) Storey, Dana (Chad) Day, Stacy (Keith) Nickles. 8 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Siblings, Gilly, Carol, Sue and their families.  Predeceased by son-in-law who he called son, Michael Bell.

He will be missed by his extended family and many friends made in his 90 years of a well lived life.

The family would like to thank AHN Hospice, The V.A, and Cornerstone Caregiving for their kindness and support, and Dr. Patricia Khalil for her excellent care.

Visitation on Thursday (6-25-26) from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis, 1205 Fifth Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108 followed full Military Honors. Burial will be on June 30th at 2:30 PM at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to his church, The Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis.
