Robert W. Franz

Robert W. Franz, age 91, of Moon Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday May 2, 2024. He was a beloved husband of 66 years to the late Louise Franz.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving sister, Doris Ryan. He was a cherished father of Ernie Franz and his wife, Denise, Sue Badzik and her husband, Paul, and Karen McDermot.

He was a loving grandfather to Brittany Huckabee and her husband, Austin, Bethany Reese and her husband, Daniel, Robert McDermot and his wife, Laura, Robin Horn and her husband, Paul, Nicole Whitley and her husband, David and Michael Badzik.

He was also a dear great-grandfather to Seguin and Titus Huckabee, Margo and Autumn Reese, Claira and Olyvia Badzik, and Bailey and James Whitley.

Bob served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. After serving his country, he developed his career as an industrial photographer. Bob began by working for Gulf Oil. Then, with the help of Louise, he opened and ran his own photography studio where he worked as a freelance photographer for many years. He finished his career working for Guild Photographers.

Bob's faith in God was the driving force behind everything he did. He was a founding member of Providence Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder for many years.

Friends will be received at R.D. Copeland, Ltd, 867 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis on Tuesday May 7th from 5 - 8 pm. The family will also receive friends at Providence Presbyterian Church 77 Phillips Lane, Robinson Twp PA 15136 on Wednesday May 8th from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 am. Burial will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park.
