Robert W. Schneider, Jr.

Robert W. Schneider, Jr., age 81, of Leetsdale, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Heritage Valley Beaver. Robert was born in Erie, PA on February 14, 1945, one of two children to the late Rhea Jeanne (Hetzer) and Robert W. Schneider, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on October 1, 2010, by his oldest son, Carl William Schneider. Beloved husband of 57 years to Lynne F. Schneider who he married December 21, 1968. Loving father of Eileen (James) Cashour of Bel Air, MD, Mark Schneider of Miami, FL, and Janette (Dan) Greene of Pittsburgh, PA; cherished grandfather of David Cashour and Serena Greene; brother of Nancy (Michael) Meyer; uncle of Emily (Patrick) Kane, Jennifer Meyer, and Eric Meyer; great uncle of Theodore Kane.

Robert worked in various companies in insurance, recruiting and transportation. Later in life, he found joy working at Sam’s Club where he made many friends, both colleagues and members.

Robert was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He also was a member of the Query Club, and as a young man, was past president of the DeMolay.

Robert graduated from Penn State University with his bachelors in ancient history in 1967. His passion for ancient history and philosophy led him to continue post-graduate courses at both Penn State University and Duquesne University. 

Robert enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and had been an avid swimmer.  In his youth, he played baseball and loved to hear about his grandson’s games.  He had fond childhood memories of Sunday drives with his family and days spent at Presque Isle.  Road trips were one of his favorite past times and he loved to go with family or on his own.
