It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our brother Robert Manko on February 9, 2020. Robert, 62, who resided in Hopewell Twp., was born in Sewickley on October 18, 1957 to the late Joseph Manko and Zona (Haniak) Manko. He was a graduate of Quaker Valley High School. Robert graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor`s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for First Energy at Shippingport Nuclear Plant for 40 years and had just retired in September 2019.
"Robbie" will be deeply missed by his brother Richard; Sewickley, sisters Cynthia VanVerth; Forty Fort, PA., and Donna Greytok, and husband John; Mountain Top, PA., nieces Gayle, Rachel, Alexa, Quinn and nephew Gary. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew Richard (Rickey) Manko.
Robbie looked forward to doing so much in his retirement. His passion was using his woodworking and mechanical skills to complete home projects. He was computer savvy, had an uncanny ability to solve any problem, and could fix or repair anything. He was so kind, so smart, and would do anything to help family and friends. We will miss your smile, your sense of humor, your phone calls, your generosity, but most of all, we will miss YOU. You will be forever in our hearts.
We would like to thank the nursing staff at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA., for their compassion and kindness to Robbie.
Visitation will be Friday 4-8 PM at Copeland`s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St, where Robbie`s funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:45 AM. Father Thomas J. Burke, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
