Robert Lee Lintner, 76, of Moon Township died Thursday October 24, 2024 from complications after surgery, surrounded by his family. Bob was born in Canton, Ohio, home to the football hall of fame, which was a great foreshadowing for his love of the Pittsburgh Steelers & the Penn State Nittany Lions football teams. He joined the Air Force and was stationed over in Germany during his time of service. After being discharged, his career in aviation continued in Pittsburgh with USAir. He was a gate supervisor at the airport, a job that was completely suited to him. Bob was the most patient and even-tempered man. He had a particularly unique skill to be able to lower the temperature of any situation. Many upset travelers were helped along their journey by his positivity and willingness to do whatever he could to improve their situation. He met his loving wife of 47 years, Sara, through USAir. Bob and Sara could be seen holding hands and talking every day with Bob routinely blowing Sara kisses as she left. Bob was a model of gentle parenting, deeply engaged in all aspects of his children's lives. He loved being active with his kids as they grew up. He would always join them in boogie boarding & swimming on vacations and watching their favorite movies was a holiday tradition he greatly enjoyed. His active involvement with his children extended naturally to his two grandsons. He adored being a grandfather, as anyone who knew him, or was stuck in line behind him, would tell you. After he retired, Bob got jobs at the Pirate and Steeler stadiums which kept him active and gave him the continued opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life. Bob loved his church and was always involved with supporting Sharon Community Presbyterian, through choir singing, food pantry volunteering and leading their worship, music and arts committee. Bob's love of music also leads to his frequent participation in the Sewickley Choir Group. Bob was naturally sociable, quick to strike up conversations with an easy laugh that put others at ease, endearing him to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He is survived by his wife Sara Lintner; his three children Craig Lintner, Kristen (Zach) Minteer, and Ryan Lintner; his grandchildren Dempsey and Lennon Minteer; his sisters Peg Kostelich and Cheryl (Russ) Knetsch; and many brothers and sisters in laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Dale and his mother Shirley. Bob was born November 5, 1947 in Canton OH. Friends will be received at R. D. Copeland, Inc., 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Township on Monday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in Sharon Community Presbyterian Church, 522 Carnot Road, Moon Township on Tuesday at 1:30 pm. (Everyone please meet at church).
