Rita M. (Lachelli) Castelveter, 81, of the Coraopolis/Moon Area, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Caring Heights. Rita was born on August 14, 1943, one of four children born to the late Vincent and Beatrice (Pederson) Lachelli. Former spouse of Edward Atkinson and the late Robert Castleveter. Beloved mother of Ed Atkinson and wife Laura of Imperial and Jodi M. Hope and her husband Hamilton Hope, Jr; cherished grandmother of Jordan Atkinson, Samantha Bosiljevac and husband Jared, Savannah Hope, and Hamilton Hope III; loving great grandmother of twins Teagan and Raelyn Jaroszynski and Nova Humphrey; along with many dear friends. Rita was predeceased by her three brothers, Vincent, Pete, and Glenn Lachelli. Rita was a member of Local 1058 and had also worked at Norsub Truck Stop. Rita enjoyed spending time at VFW Post 402 where she loved to play BINGO. She also loved to dance. A great baker, you felt special if she baked you a cake, brought a veggie pizza to your party, or overloaded you with the tastiest mac and cheese and ham barbeque. Probably the most wonderful thing about Rita was her giving heart. She will be missed by all who loved her. Visitation Monday 4-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday evening at 6:30 pm by the VFW Post 402 Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
