Richard M. Wonder, Sr.

Wonder, Sr., Richard M.; A lifelong resident of Coraopolis, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Martha (Ritchie) Wonder. Cherished father of Richard M. (Karen) Wonder Jr., Susan (Tim) Chimera and Timothy (Connie) Wonder. Brother of the late Thomas L. Wonder, Sr. Loving grandfather of Kelsey (Shane) Furlong, Madison (Derek) Miller, Cameron Wonder, Allison Wonder, Anne Chimera, Rachel Wonder and Matthew Wonder. Great-grandfather of Kasey Furlong. Uncle of Thomas L. (Rosemary) Wonder, Jr.  Richard was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis for 60 years. He was the operations manager for the Joseph Horne Company at the Beaver Valley Mall. In his retirement, he became the custodian at The Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis for several years. He also received great pleasure from driving school bus for the Moon School District for enough years to see his kindergarten passengers through to their graduation. His family discovered the love of camping and traveled for many years before he and Martha settled on a permanent location where weekends were spent enjoying time with their grandchildren and good friends. After Martha’s passing, he was rescued by his beloved companion Buddy, who found him during a visit to Animal Friends. Visitation Sunday 1 - 5 pm at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where service will be held on Monday at 1 PM. Rev. Dr. Thomas Petrosky will officiate. Entombment will follow in Coraopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to The Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis or Animal Friends 562 Camp Horne Rd Pittsburgh Pa. 15237.
