Richard E. Welsch

Richard E. Welsch, 76, of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Brighton Rehab. He was born in Pittsburgh on December 14, 1946, to the late Glen and Marjorie (Armour) Welsch. Richard was a long-time meat cutter with Shop N Save in Kennedy Township and in 1980, just by chance, met the love of his life, Mary M. (Croxton) Welsch. Richard and Mary married on May 25, 1985. Richard enjoyed weightlifting and biking. He was one to watch sports, golf, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all, Richard and Mary loved to travel with Hawaii being one of their all-time favorites, along with Paris, Bahamas, Canada, Las Vegas and Reno, NV, with the highlight, a dream come true, was driving down Route 1 in a Mustang convertible. Loving stepfather of Cynthia (Joseph) Romanchak, Jamie (Patrick) Giles, Diane (Robert) Panucci and the late Mary Ann Rubolino; brother of Linda Scandrol, Nancy (Al) Damastasio, and Robert (Terry) Welsch; also 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation Friday 4-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave., where funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 Am. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
