Richard T. Elder

Richard T. Elder, age 82, of Robinson Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, June 5, 2026. Born in Sewickley on October 6, 1943, Rich was the son of the late Robert and Gisella (Dvorak) Elder. He is preceded in death by his brothers Robert Elder and Ronald Elder. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the love of his life, Sylvia (Blatecky) Elder, the proud father of Andrea Faloney (Randy), Christina Krull, and Brian Elder (Amber). But the sparkle in his eyes came from his grandchildren Paige McKee (Shane), Cassie Krull (T.R.), Jacob Elder, Kylee Perich, and Layna Perich (Brandon) and his great grandchildren, Chandler, Makayla, and Sophie McKee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Rich worked at Pittsburgh Forgings for 20 years, then he became a route driver at Pittsburgh Mailing Systems before he retired in 2006. Rich's ultimate passion in life was his unmatched love and dedication to his family, they were his whole world. He was a huge sports fanatic with NASCAR, WWE, and football being his favorites. When he wasn't watching sports, you would find him on his tractor cutting the grass or riding to the creek. He loved being outside and would sit on the pool deck for hours soaking up the sun. Rich was an amazing, outgoing guy that was loved by all. Friends received at R. D. Copeland, Ltd., 867 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis on Tuesday 2 – 8 pm where a Funeral Prayer will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis at 10 am. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
