The Reverend Kerry A. Meier, Sr., Chaplain, Lt. Col., PA Air National Guard (Ret.), answered his final call and joyfully stepped into the presence of his Lord on Jan 19, 2026, where he was reunited—at long last and with great celebration—with his beloved wife of 52 years, Beatrice Irene Meier. Those who knew Kerry can easily imagine the moment: a wide smile, open arms, and a heartfelt, “Well, it’s about time.”
A man of deep faith and consistent steady service, he lived a life rooted in love for God, his family, his congregation, and his community. He served faithfully as Pastor of Riverdale Presbyterian Church for 41 years, shepherding his congregation with wisdom, compassion, and the love of Jesus. Kerry also served his country with distinction as a Chaplain in the PA Air National Guard, beginning in Dec 1962 to Dec 1991 ultimately retiring with the rank of Lt. Colonel. In 2017 he moved to the Seneca Falls, NY area, to be close to Karen and her family, where he resided until his death.
He loved fishing, golfing, traveling, gardening, and youth group ski trips. Above all, Kerry treasured his family. He was a devoted husband to Beatrice, father to their children Kerry Meier Jr. (Diane) and Karen Graziano (Pastor Jerry Graziano), and a proud grandfather to Eric Meier, Annmarie (Gary) Barrell, and David and Paul Graziano, each of whom carries forward his legacy of faith, kindness, and quiet strength. Kerry was predeceased by his brother Edward Meier.
Kerry believed firmly in the promise of resurrection and lived as one who trusted God’s future more than he feared life’s endings. We grieve his passing, but not without hope—for we know he is now whole, at peace, and joyfully home.
