Regina (Cioppa) Plutto, 79, a Moon Township resident since 1972, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday morning, August 27, 2020. Regina was born in Braddock on April 23, 1941, one of 3 daughters to Matilda (Decesare) Cioppa of Arrow Wood, PA, and the late John Cioppa. Beloved wife for 54 years to Ronald E. Plutto; loving mother of Cheryl (Eric) Schrift of Hopewell and Daniel (Noel) Plutto of Woodlands, TX; proud grandmother Jillian Schrift, Elizabeth and William Plutto; cherished sister of Mary Louis (Carmen) Marcelli of Munhall and Donna (Sonny) Wilson of Collier Township. Regina graduated from Rankin High School, class of 1959, obtained her bachelor’s in Education from IUP and graduated in Respiratory Therapy from Community College of Allegheny. Regina taught elementary students in West Mifflin for 5 years and in St. Joseph School for 5 years. Regina changed careers in 1983 becoming a respiratory therapist and was promoted to Supervisor of The Pulmonary Department of Allegheny General Hospital where she stayed for 15 years. A faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima, she served as a eucharistic minister and a member of the evangelization committee. She also enjoyed playing bridge at the Sewickley Y. Visitation Friday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayer will be recited at 6 PM (Friday). Please meet at Our Lady of Fatima Church for Mass on Saturday at 12:30 PM. Burial will be private at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Family suggests donations in her name to The Food Pantry at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2270 Brodhead Rd., Aliquippa, PA 15001.
