Pigoon Soda

Pigoon Soda, 77, a resident of Moon Township/Coraopolis area since 2023, formerly 32 years in Waldorf, MD, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband and son present on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Pigoon was born on May 9, 1948, in Huatapan, Thailand, one of seven siblings. Pigoon was a member of the Buddhist Temple in Ft. Washington, MD where she spent time helping others and donating food.  Pigoon always enjoyed volunteering as well as helping others at the VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 293 where she was also a member (both in Waldorf, MD).  She was an excellent cook making the most scrumptious egg rolls, steak salads and various other Thai cuisine. She had won numerous homemade chili and soup cookoffs at the Waldorf American Legion and VFW. She also loved to garden having a deep appreciation for flowers and their beauty, as well as Thai hot peppers and numerous other vegetables. Many years in the hospitality industry, she was a housekeeper for a variety of hospitals, hotels, and several military billeting located here in the States and Greece. Her last employment was at the Gaylord Hotel in Oxen Hill, MD.  Pigoon is survived by the love of her life whom she married on August 17, 1973, Daniel R. Soda, Jr. Beloved mother of Daniel R. Soda III and the late Christopher Soda. She has a sister and four brothers remaining in Thailand. Visitation Friday, April 10th 2 PM until service at 4 PM, followed by additional visitation 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. Pigoon’s family would like to thank UPMC Hospice for their support and loving care.
