Penelope (McGee) Marshall, 63, of Sheraden, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 21, 2020 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital. She was born in Pittsburgh on April 23, 1957 to Frances (Golembiewski) and the late David McGee. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother James McGee and wife Carol; her former spouse Dr. J. Ashby Marshall; two nieces Katie McGee and Kelly (Rob) Neal; and two great nieces Delaney and Kendall. In addition to her father, Penny was preceded in death by her cherished yorkie, Mala. Penny was a 1975 graduate of Carrick High School. Always an animal lover, she followed her passion/devotion to help animals, graduating from Median Allied Health in downtown Pittsburgh as a certified veterinary technician. After graduation, she began her career in 1981 at Canon Hill Veterinary Hospital and in 1993, moved to Moon Veterinary Hospital until her recent retirement. Penny had a kind word for all her clients, especially the furry ones. Her interests most recently centered around aroma therapy, holistic medical practices and Reiki. She also enjoyed boating. Penny will be missed. It was best said by her friends/family at Moon Vet, “Penny was a member of our staff for many years and a long-time friend for even longer. She was truly a kindred spirit and our hearts are broken with her passing. God speed as you pass through to the other side Pen. We love you” A memorial service is being planned later when restrictions of COVID-19 are lifted. Arrangements by Copeland’s.
