Paul A. Whitehead

Paul A. Whitehead; Age 94, of Sewickley, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026. Beloved husband of 53 years to Judith Whitehead with whom he shared a daughter Cate Whitehead (Dave). Also survived by his children from his previous marriage, Anne Whitehead (Dan), twins David and Dean Whitehead and the late Mark Whitehead. Brother of the late Ralph Whitehead. Brother-in-law of Jessica Abrams, Jim Abrams and Janice Abrams. Grandfather of Chris (Tania) and Rick Whitehead. Great-grandfather of Rowan.

Paul grew up in Boston, PA. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he balanced his studies with weekend service in the Air Force ROTC and worked on a labor gang at a local steel mill. Following graduation, he was commissioned into the United States Air Force and stationed in Eastcote, England, eventually attaining the rank of Captain.

After completing his military service, Paul studied architecture at Carnegie Mellon University. He went on to become one of the founding partners of WTW Architects, where he enjoyed a distinguished career in both residential and commercial design.

Paul met the love of his life, Judy, while horseback riding at a stable in the South Hills. Together they found a home and property in Sewickley Hills, where they created their beloved horse farm, "Windwalk." There they built a life together and shared more than 40 wonderful years surrounded by family, friends, and the horses and pets they loved.

Services and Interment for Paul were held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Memorial contributions in Paul’s name can be made to the Shepherd’s Heart Veterans' Home, 13 Pride Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Arrangements entrusted to R.D. Copeland Funeral Homes.
