In Loving Memory of Patricia Phillipy-Lind
June 24, 1962 – July 13, 2025
Patricia Phillipy-Lind, a devoted mother, daughter, wife, sister, and dear friend, of Little River, South Carolina, unexpectedly passed away on July 13th, at 63 years old. Born on June 24, 1962, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Patricia — known aAectionately as Patty — brought a warm smile and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was a graduate of Canevin High School, earned her bachelor’s degree from Robert Morris University, and went on to receive her MBA from Duquesne University — a testament to her intelligence, perseverance, and lifelong commitment to learning. Her education laid the foundation for an impactful career, most recently with New York Life, where she proudly served on the Executive Council and helped countless individuals with their life insurance and financial needs. Patty was especially proud of her involvement with the BNI Women’s Group, where she found joy in connecting with and uplifting other professionals. Patricia is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca Leibrick-Durham (Alex), who was her pride and joy; her husband, Murdoch E. Lind, III; her mother, Eleanor J. Phillipy; her brothers, David P. Phillipy (Katie) and Peter D. Phillipy (Renae); her nephew, David Phillipy; and her nieces, Elizabeth Lamping (Timothy), Whitney Roeder (Casey), Demi Brook Phillipy Petrovich (Daniel), and Chloe Walters (Aaron). She was preceded in death by her father, Brigadier General Peter R. Phillipy, whom she held close in heart and memory. Patricia had a vibrant spirit and a love for the simple pleasures in life. She adored her dog Lulu, who was her constant companion and brought her daily comfort and joy. Patty loved the beach, never passed up a good poker game, and enjoyed spending time with her beloved cousins with whom she was very close. She was passionate about her work, deeply loyal to her friends and family, and never hesitated to lend a hand. Her radiant personality, and quick wit will be missed by all who knew her. Whether she was sitting by the ocean, laughing over a card game, or cheering someone on in life or business, Patty lived a life filled with compassion, humor, and quiet strength. A private service will be held for close family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
