Norman Dingmore

08/29/1926 – 11/19/2025

Norman Dingmore was called home by Lord Jesus, passing away peacefully after a brief illness in Pittsburgh, PA.

Norman was born in Houston, TX and grew up in Fort Worth. At age 17 in 1944, he enlisted in the Navy during WWII, assigned to COMAIRPAC at Pearl Harbor as a yeoman 2nd class. Following post-war work at Conoco Oil in Texas, Norman became an ordained Southern Baptist minister. In 1961, he was the pastor of the Panther Creek Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY. He later worked for the Baptist Sunday School Board in the Baptist Book Store division for 30 years, managing stores and mail order centers in Albuquerque, NM, Fresno, CA, Jacksonville, FL, Raleigh, NC, and Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. In retirement, Norman enjoyed many years of European travel with his wife Joyce, reading, teaching Bible, and family genealogy research.

Norman is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Ann Cummins and his son John Anthony Dingmore. He is survived by his son Norman Lawrence Dingmore and wife Ellen, his granddaughter Erin and husband Rick, his granddaughter Emily and husband Ryan, his three great-granddaughters Isabel, Adeline, and Lindsey, and his great-grandson Charlie.

“When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”” 1 Cor 15:54-55
