Obituary

Norma Kuhlman, 90, a Moon Township resident since 1960, passed away peacefully at North Hills Skilled Nursing Facility on Monday, August 7, 2023, with her family by her side. Norma was one of five children born to the late Edward and Mathilda (Gabosh) Eigenbrod. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on April 27, 2015, by her husband of 55 years, Daniel E. Kuhlman. She was also preceded in death by three of her siblings and two brothers-in-law: Edward Eigenbrod, Betty Eigenbrod, Alma Vogel and her husband Wilbert, and James Segerdahl. Norma was a devout Christian. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church who, in her later years, became a member of her son’s church- St. Philip’s.  At Zion Lutheran Church, she was very involved in the Women’s Ministry where she served on the Board, the Women’s Circle, taught Sunday School, and volunteered with Vacation Bible School. She also faithfully delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Later in her life, both she and her husband took lessons in Ballroom Dancing and joined in dances, just to have fun and be together. Norma was an exemplary neighbor. She was a founding member of the Neighborhood Card Club and led a neighborhood bible study group. Family and traditions were everything to Norma and she was an “excellent cook”.  She loved to host extended family get-togethers and was instrumental in keeping the family close. She made everyone feel special, greeting them all with joy and a warm welcome. Lastly, what we will remember most about Norma is that she was a very loving parent and loving grandmother. Beloved mother of David (Carla) Kuhlman of Moon Township, Marilyn (Mark) Hall of Hampton, John (Cindy) Kuhlman of Moon Township; loving grandmother of Amy (Isaiah) Bornman, Jill (Trevor) Buda, Geoffrey Hall, Timothy Hall, Christopher Hall, Elijah Kuhlman, and Kayla Kuhlman; great grandmother of Thomas and Ben Bornman; her sister Joanne Segerdahl and numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday 5-8 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd., 15108.  Everyone please meet at Northway Sewickley Valley, 200 Deer Run Rd., Sewickley, PA 15143 for the funeral service on Saturday at 11 am followed by a luncheon. Burial will be at Sharon Community Presbyterian Church. If desired, contributions may be made in her name to St. Philip’s Church, 1629 Beaver Grade Rd., Coraopolis, PA 15108.
