Nancy McBain Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved Mom. She was a devoted mother, aunt, grandmother, friend, and a faithful member of her church and choir.

Nancy L. McBain, 88, most recently of Apple Blossom, formerly of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Born on December 11, 1936, she was the only child of the late Edward and Annette (Deemer) Gray. She married the love of her life on November 29, 1958, Robert T. McBain. They had 38 beautiful years together until he passed on September 2, 1996. She was the beloved mother of Jeffrey and wife Lore McBain and David and his wife Tammy McBain; cherished grandmother of April McBain of Massachusetts, Rob and wife Lindsay McBain of Imperial, Abby and husband Braden Przybys of South Heights and Ian McBain of Coraopolis; adored great grandmother of Luna, Vega, Lilly, Alex, with Nora coming in July.

Nancy was a graduate of Ambridge High School and Montefiore Nursing School. Nancy dedicated over 45 years to her nursing profession. She began her nursing career at Montefiore Hospital, moving to Dravo Corporation and Shenango Inc., private duty nursing, part time at Dr. "Buck" Braden's office and lastly as GI Lab charge nurse at Suburban General . She touched countless lives with her compassion and kindness.

Nancy was just plain fun. She was always up to something and had an uncanny way of making everyone near her laugh. She found humor everywhere she went. She truly enjoyed being with family and friends. She found peace in the beauty of her garden. She loved to travel. Always kept herself active, whether it be with Silver Sneakers, volunteering at the Sewickley Valley Hospital Gift Shop, singing in the choir, singing and laughing with the Mary K. Kennedy Chorale, or accompanying her grandchildren to the Sewickley Library and Carnegie Science Center. She was a spit-fire, with a feisty spirit and caring nature.

Nancy bravely battled dementia over the past several years and her sense of humor never wavered. The family is truly grateful to the staff at Apple Blossom Memory Care and Suncrest Hospice who lovingly cared for our mom.

Now, she is reunited with our dad in her heavenly rest. We will forever cherish the love and joy she brought into our lives. Thank you for keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
