Clancy, Michael “Mike” Age 67, formerly of Neville Island, most recently of Shippingport, Beaver County. Beloved son of the late John and Lola (Lewis) Clancy. Cherished husband for 22 years to Ruth Ann O’Rourke. Loving father of Bonnie (Kyle) Kosiorek, Shannon Clancy, Erin (Daniel) Cox, Kaitlyn (Joseph) Hawthorne, and Brianna Clancy; and step-father to Doug Mixter. Brother of Lee (Rich) Thomas, Jean (Clancy) Moore, Peggy Clancy, Thomas Clancy, and the late John V. Clancy, Jr. Also survived by 23 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mike was a competitive barefooter and performed in the Beaver Regatta. He was passionate about the water, his Ski Nautique, and teaching others how to water ski. Away from the water, Mike was a farmer who enjoyed horseback riding and raising beef cattle. He worked for several companies throughout his career as an International and Domestic Instrumentation and Calibration Specialist, where his expertise lead him to Angola in South Africa. He was also a co-founder of the Walk for Diabetes Research with Bob Mandera from Erie to Pittsburgh. Mike later went on to use his abilities as a “people person” to serve the Borough of Shippingport as Mayor for 16 years and on the Borough Council for 3 years. No matter where he was, he was always recognized, even during Muster stations on a cruise ship. His last breath on earth was the first breath in his new life. Friends will be received at the R.D Copeland Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Rd, Moon Twp on Sunday from 3 – 8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 am followed by burial at Sewickley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
