Michael Jon Lee entered this world on January 30, 1964, one of five children born to Norma Joan Bryant and Louis Michael Lee. From the beginning, Michael carried a quiet strength and a deep sense of loyalty that would define his life and legacy. On September 30, 2025, he transitioned this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion. As he lived with grace and humility, he now continues his peaceful journey into eternity with the Lord.
Michael graduated from Cornell High School in 1983, where he formed lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for a life of hard work and integrity. On May 15, 1993, Michael married the love of his life, Marsha. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, and together they raised two sons, Michael Jon Lee, Jr., and Matthew Robert Lee. Michael was immensely proud of his boys and poured his heart into being a present, loving, and guiding father. His greatest joy came from watching them grow into strong, compassionate men.
Michael began his hospitality career at the Vista International Hotel chain, where he worked as a Banquet Houseman, Server, and Bartender. His dedication and work ethic quickly earned him a promotion to Banquet Houseman Supervisor after just one year. Following two successful years in that role, he advanced to Assistant Manager in the Stewarding Department, where he continued to demonstrate leadership and reliability.
In 1995, when the hotel was transitioned to a DoubleTree by Hilton, Michael stepped into the role of Assistant Banquet Manager. By 2001, the property became part of the Starwood family and was rebranded as The Westin. Michael remained a steady force, continuing his work as Assistant Banquet Manager and embracing each change with professionalism and grace. Committed to growth and excellence, Michael was promoted to Outlet Manager in February 2010. Just two years later, in March 2012, he rose to the position of Director of Banquets, a role in which he flourished. Michael has left a lasting legacy of being a person who led with heart and passion. He knew that supporting his team was key to being a great leader. He celebrated the successes and weathered all storms as a team.
A lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan, Michael stood firm in his loyalty, even in a household full of Pittsburgh Steelers supporters. His passion for football was matched only by his passion for family. Known affectionately as “Big Mike,” he was a protector, encourager, and an old soul whose wisdom and warmth touched everyone around him. His handsome presence, huge smile, soft heart, and calm demeanor brought comfort and strength to those who knew him.
Michael was deeply devoted to his family. He cherished his siblings, adored his aunts, and always made time for “all his favorite cousins.” He was a mentor, a role model, and a steady presence in the lives of many in offering guidance, laughter, and unconditional love. His legacy is one of quiet leadership, deep faith, and unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Michael Lee; his grandparents, Roalf and Margaret Lee, and Jon F. and Corrine Bryant; his father-in-law, Robert Mozley, and his beloved brother, Micah Lee.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory, devoted wife, Marsha Anita Lee; his sons, Michael Jon Lee, Jr. and Matthew Robert Lee; his loving mother, Norma Joan Bryant; and his siblings, Louis Mark Lee, Gregory David Lee, and Melaine Danielle Lee; mother-in-law, Marsha Mozley; and brothers-in-law, Everett Mozley (Sharon) and Robert Mozley (Latricia).
