The dear Lord came down and took his angel to heaven. I knew Missy was just loaned to me. But we always want more time, and time is always too short. Melissa K. (Homitsky) Wisen, 57, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital. Melissa was born on June 24, 1968, in Sewickley, PA, one of three children born to the late Joseph P. and Thelma Jean (Malone) Homitsky, Sr. Melissa was an astute businesswoman. She with her brother, Joseph P. Homitsky, Jr. were co-owners of Riverside Builders Supply, a family owned and operated business, begun by their grandfather and uncle, Joseph P. and Nick Homitsky. They later sold the business, and they retired. Upon retirement, she delved into family history through genealogy and also became a glass collector. Missy and Frank frequented their camp where they loved watching nature and riding their quads. She loved the holidays, baking cookies and cajoling her husband and son to do the physical decorating. Missy sometimes had a temper, was a fierce protector of her family and always loved them immensely. Missy was kindhearted and was a cherished wife, mother, and sister. Beloved wife for 39 years to Frank J. Wisen; loving mother of Frank J. Wisen, Jr.; sister of Pamela Anne Homitsky and Joseph P. Homitsky Jr.; also, several nieces and nephews. All services were private. Arrangements by Copeland’s. If desired, the family suggests donations in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
