Max Joseph Ritter, Jr.

Max Joseph Ritter, Jr., age 93, of Moon Township passed on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Born on March 24, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Max Ritter and Anna McDemic.  Beloved husband of the late Patricia Ritter, dear father of Joe (Elaine) Ritter of Sealy, TX, , Jeff (Karen) Ritter of Moon Township, Bob (Debbie) Ritter of Houston, TX, Scott (Colleen) Ritter of Wimberley, TX and Trish (Sam) Bowen of Chesterfield, VA; brother of Dorothy (the late Jim) McNerney and the late Carrie Ritter, grandfather of James (Laura) Ritter, David (Stacy) Ritter, Michael (Charoma) Ritter, Amy (Jacob) Knox, Sydney (Alexander) Steadman, Max Ritter, Jacob (Lexi) Ritter, Kaleigh (Ramez) Amin, Bridget (fiancée Robert Mancuso III), Abby Bowen and Anna (Garrett) Seaton. Also survived by 9 great-grandchildren. Max enlisted in the U. S. Navy and proudly served in the Seabees (Navy Construction Battalion). After his service, he worked as an independent contractor and an estimator for several Pittsburgh companies in the engineering field.  While serving in the Navy, he married the love of his life, Patricia, on December 27, 1952, and they began their legacy together. His lifelong passion was hunting, and his hobbies included golfing and bicycling with Patricia.  He thoroughly enjoyed his time as a starter at the Moon Golf Club. Friends will be received at the R. D. Copeland, Inc., Funeral Home, 981 Brodhead Road, Moon Township on Monday, March 25 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church of Coraopolis 1443 Coraopolis Heights Rd, Coraopolis, PA 15108. (Please meet at the church).
