Maryann (Spega) Smith

Maryann (Spega) Smith, 61, of Crescent, formerly of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at West Penn Hospital. Maryann was born in Sewickley on February 21, 1961, the only child of John and Helen Spega. She married her soulmate on July 1, 1992, David W. Smith. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her cherished son, John Wyatt Smith and Matthew who was loved like a son. Maryann was outgoing and good hearted. Her life was all about caring for others, nurturing, and loving. In fact, her house was the “go to house” for inclusion without judgement. They had so many children that needed undergirded and felt the implicit acceptance and love. She felt free to speak her mind, but her love always shone through. One of her hobbies, was paint by number, and she was meticulous, having assistance with three different magnifying glasses. They looked like works of art. Maryann requested no service.
