Mary Jane (Merriman) Pantzis

Mary Jane (Merriman) Pantzis, 87, died quietly at her home while working on her computer on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Born July 1, 1939, in Sewickley, PA, she was the only child born to the late Elmer Lloyd and Dorothy (Hack) Merriman. On February 11, 1961, she married her true love, George Jack Pantzis, who she fondly called Ed. He passed away on June 17, 2021. The twosome became one.  After George died, Mary Jane always deeply missed him and was very sad. Mary Jane and George did everything together. They had an immaculate house and a beautiful yard. They moved to Moon Township Sharon Hill South in 1960 where they raised their sons, Ron and Greg and joined St. Margaret Mary Church. They loved to help their neighbors, friends and tenants. They had a wonderful 60 years. Besides taking care of her home, she also was a wise businesswoman following in her mother’s footsteps as apartment manager. Mary Jane was proactive in learning, at her age, how to use the computer and was constantly researching. She also was known to indulge in chocolates, gummie savers, and sweets.  She was fiercely independent, which both her sons supported by letting her live in her own home. Mary Jane was the beloved mother of Ron (Karen) Pantzis of Tampa, Fl and Greg (Angie) Pantzis of Cleveland, TX; cherished grandmother, the “Loves of her Life”, Ashley Pantzis of Denver, CO, Derek Pantzis of Chicago, IL, Cassandra (Brad) Espinosa of Conroe, TX, Alexandra (Michael) Turner of Cleveland, TX, and Trace (Annie) Pantzis of Cleveland, TX; proud great grandmother of William and Cooper. Arrangements by Copeland’s. In lieu of flowers and a devout animal lover, family suggests donations in her name to Beaver County Humane Society.
